President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday said that the strong collaboration between Cebu’s local government units (LGUs) and the national government is a key driver of progress in the Central Visayas region.
In his speech during the One Cebu People’s rally, President Marcos praised Cebu’s local leaders for aligning their goals with national objectives, which ensures the effective rollout of government programs and projects.
“Ang isa pang nais kong banggitin ay ang ating mga nagiging proyekto dito sa Cebu. Kagaya ng aking nasabi kanina, mahalaga para sa national government na maganda ang ugnayan sa ating mga local governments,” the President said.
President Marcos emphasized that the success of national government programs largely depends on the effectiveness of local government units. He noted that without proper implementation at the regional level, communities may not fully experience the intended benefits.
The President also stressed the administration’s readiness to pursue major initiatives in Central Visayas, citing Cebu’s dependable local governance as a key factor.
“Kaya po hindi kami nag-aalangan na pupunta kami sa Central Visayas na mag-propose ng malalaking proyekto,” the President said.
The One Cebu People’s rally marked a continued commitment to progress and inclusive development, with Cebu playing a vital role in national growth through solid intergovernmental cooperation. | PND
