On 7 December 2017, delegates from the China Central Television (CCTV) headed by Mr. Dong Wei Min, General Accountant of CCTV, visited the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) for a Ceremonial Signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).

The MOA provides for the rebroadcasting of CCTV’s english programs from its China Global Television Network (CGTN). Dino Apolonio signed as General Manager of the Philippine Television Network, Inc., while Mr. Dong Wei Min and Mr. Sun Yusheng, Vice President of CCTV, signed the MOA in behalf of CCTV.

Assistant Secretary Kristian Ablan lead the PCOO team as the Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on International Cooperation. Joining him and GM Dino Apolonio were Atty. Glen Ocampo and Ms. Josh Cayabyab as the focal persons of the International Cooperation Affairs.

Assistant Secretary Ablan emphasized that the people of the Philippines and China share friendship and understanding. Both nations have been partners for so long and their culture, history, and heritage are intertwined.

This signing of the Memorandum of Agreement is a testament to this great friendship and a step towards fruitful collaboration in terms of co-broadcasting relevant, news and entertaining programs.

Both parties wish to have more friendly exchanges and cooperation to strengthened its relations. More projects are being lined-up to ensure that media platforms of PCOO will become at par with other foreign state media.
