After more than a decade, the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani will embark on a two-day State Visit to the Philippines later this month upon the invitation of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
The Qatari Amir will visit Manila from April 21 to 22, the Presidential Communications Office announced on Saturday.
“The two leaders are expected to exchange views on regional issues and to discuss PH-Qatar bilateral relations which now covers cooperation in the areas of labor, climate change, trade and investments, energy security, education, youth, and sports, among others,” the PCO said.
The last time a Qatari leader made a state visit to the Philippines was in 2012. PND
