All the conditions set by Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy for his surrender are immaterial, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said on Wednesday.
According to the President, the fugitive evangelist should speak to the courts.
“Parang hindi niya (Quiboloy) yata masyadong naintindihan ang proseso … pagka nag-issue ang korte ng bench warrant or warrant for arrest, it is out of our hands already. It is in the courts’ hands,” President Marcos said in a media interview during his aerial inspection of areas hit by Storm Enteng.
“Kailangan ang kausap niya ang korte. Dahil ang executive, ang papel lang namin ngayon ay arestuhin siya. So, all of these conditions that he’s putting in are immaterial,” he said.
Quiboloy imposed conditions for his surrender, including an assurance from Malacañang that he would not be extradited to the United States, where he is charged with sex trafficking of children.
US authorities indicted Quiboloy for conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, as well as the sex trafficking of children.
In April this year, a Pasig City court ordered Quiboloy’s arrest for qualified human trafficking. He also has an arrest warrant for child and sexual abuse complaints issued by the Davao City Regional Trial Court.
Amid these charges, Quiboloy remains in hiding.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) initially attempted to serve a warrant of arrest to Quiboloy on June 10 at the KOJC compound in Davao City.
The police are still searching for Quiboloy, who is believed to be hiding somewhere in the KOJC compound. PND
