Reaching out to isolated communities amid Typhoon Carina a priority – PBBM

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday ordered the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) and other concerned agencies to identify communities still unreached by government aid.

The President stressed reaching out to isolated communities is a priority.

“That’s where we’ll focus our attention para the moment na bamaba ‘yung tubig, maging passable ‘yung daan, makapunta na sila kaagad,” President Marcos said during a situation briefing at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on the effects of Typhoon Carina and the enhanced southwest monsoon (Habagat).

“We need to know where they are,” President Marcos stressed during the briefing.

As of Wednesday noon, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has recorded a total of 45,328 families affected in 225 barangays in regions I, II, III, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, V, VI, VII, NCR and CAR.

There are 1,702 families or 6,524 individuals currently taking shelter in 126 evacuation centers in various regions. PND
