Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” C. Remulla hailed the Philippine National Police (PNP) for the rescue of human trafficking victims during the implementation of an arrest warrant against a religious leader in Davao City.
This as the PNP Region 11 effected the warrant against Pastor Apollo Quiboloy in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound.
The rescued victims are now under the protection of the police after they were evaluated and assessed by the DSWD Region 11.
Secretary Remulla urged victims and their families as well as KOJC members to come forward assuring them of their safety and protection.
“l also call for a stronger collaboration between and among the DOJ through the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT), the PNP, and the DSWD to ensure airtight cases against the perpetrators with the end view to delivering justice to their victims. Let us continue fighting this human trafficking menace which hounds society particularly the vulnerable sector,” the Secretary stressed. ###
