President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday stressed the importance of unity in nation-building while thanking local leaders from the Visayas for supporting his vision for economic progress.
“I’m very grateful to all the governors of Regions VI, VII, and VIII for their expressions of support,” President Marcos told reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration of a new runway in Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).
“It is a very, very important part of our nation-building na malaman na at the very least, dito sa Visayas ay may maaasahan tayo na tutulong – magtutulungan para sa mga programa na dinadala ng pamahalaan,” he said.
The President stressed that engaging in conflicts rather than collaborating does not yield positive results. “We should put those attempts to one side and stay together,” he said.
Regions VI (Western Visayas), VII (Central Visayas), and VIII (Eastern Visayas) are part of a significant economic bloc that partners with the government for development.
Today, President Marcos had lunch with Visayas governors and One Cebu officials at the Cebu Provincial Capitol.
