Palace highlights preventive intervention as economy gradually reopens; Navotas LGU thanks national gov’t for COVID-19 support

With Metro Manila and nearby provinces now under the general community quarantine (GCQ), and as more people go back to work, the Palace reiterated the importance of preventive interventions to combat the epidemic. In his August 20 press briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque, Jr. underscored the need to promote discipline and individual responsibility to help reduce COVID-19’s transmission rate.


Palace calls for unity, cooperation in COVID-19 fight

Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque, Jr asked for the cooperation of everyone in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as many areas of the country are now placed under the general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified GCQ, including Metro Manila and neighboring provinces, which will be under GCQ starting tomorrow, August 19.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Monday, August 17, placed Metro Manila to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) effective August 19 until August 31, 2020.





PRRD orders to create Task Force to probe anomalies in PhilHealth – Palace

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte ordered the creation of a Task Force, through a memorandum released today, August 7, to investigate the alleged widespread corruption and anomalies in the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth, according to Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque, Jr. during his regular press briefing.


Palace details strategies during MECQ

With the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in effect in the National Capital Region (NCR) and the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and Bulacan starting today, August 4, the Palace provided details on some of the strategies that will be adopted during the MECQ period, which are part of the government’s recalibrated plans against COVID-19.

Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque, Jr and other government officials, in a press briefing on August 3, affirmed that the two weeks of implementation of the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR) and the provinces of Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, and Bulacan will give the government time to recalibrate its strategy against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
