The Palace is pleased with the Social Weather Stations (SWS) 2020 COVID-19 Mobile Phone Survey conducted May 4-10, 2020, showing 84% of Filipinos believe that strict stay-at-home measures due to COVID-19 “are worth it to protect people and limit the spread of the virus.”

On the national testing capacity

This is to clarify that I was referring to our national testing capacity, which is now at 32,000/day, when I earlier mentioned that we have already conducted and surpassed the 30,000 target last May 20. The President will review the recommendations of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to establish the Pharmaceutical Development Center and the Virology Science and Technology Institute of the Philippines, which have already been approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) last Friday, May 22.
