The Philippines and Viet Nam on Tuesday signed agreements on rice trade cooperation, incident prevention and management in the South China Sea, agriculture and cultural cooperation during the state visit of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to Viet Nam.

The leaders of the Philippines and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam had sustained the strong strategic partnership between the two countries. In a joint statement issued by the Philippine government and Viet Nam, it said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and President Vo Van Thuong, respectively agreed to further strengthen and develop the partnership in a deeper and more comprehensive manner ahead of key milestones of the 10th anniversary of Viet Nam – Philippines Strategic Partnership in 2025 and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2026.
