Seeing the opportunities in the Philippines, the Czech Republic said it is organizing visits to the country involving high-ranking government officials and business delegation for possible partnerships on defense, agriculture and other areas.

The Universal Health Care (UHC) Coordinating Council will keep track of the spending of the special health fund by the local government units (LGUs) and local health systems in a bid to improve the country’s health system, Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said Tuesday.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. approved the proposal of the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday to create a coordinating council that will oversee the implementation of the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act in the country.

Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin, together with DOTr Secretary Jaime J. Bautista, PCO Secretary Cheloy E. Garafil, SDES Hubert Guevarra, and palace officials, had a working lunch dialogue with the “Magnificent 7” and the "Mighty One" transport coalitions. Representatives from the major transport groups, which include Pasang-Masda, LTOP, ALTODAP, Stop & Go, ACTO, FEJODAP, and NAFUVEXI, were present to express their support for the modernization initiatives of the Administration. The two coalitions thanked the President for his continuing assistance to the operators and drivers of public utility vehicles. The two groups raised their concerns that the national government needs to address. The Executive Secretary assured that the concerns raised in the meeting would be looked into and addressed by the different departments and offices of the government.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Council of Sergeants Major on Monday that the administration will continue implementing programs and policies that will promote their welfare and of their families.

Japanese businesses have expressed interest in strengthening their partnership with the Philippines as a result of the country’s continuing high-level economic growth under the Marcos administration that makes it an attractive investment destination.

PBBM convenes special command conference, orders PCG to investigate China’s recent harassment in WPS
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to conduct a maritime investigation after calling for a special Command Conference of the national security and defense clusters on Monday morning to look into China’s recent harassment of Philippine vessels in West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Although the visit to Saudi Arabia was brief, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said that it was a successful and productive one with various engagements accomplished to reaffirm the Philippines’ commitment to the partnership between the GCC and ASEAN countries, as well as to promote the country to prospect investors.
