Ipinahayag ni PBBM ang matagal na pagtutulungan ng Pilipinas at China bago pa man ang pormal na pagsisimula ng diplomatic relations noong 1975. Siniguro rin niya ang pagpapatuloy nito maging sa ibang aspeto ng kooperasyon lalo na ngayong bumabangon ang mga ekonomiya mula sa pandemya.
