President Rodrigo Roa Duterte makes sixth visit to Marawi City
On President Rodrigo Roa Dutere's sixth visit to Marawi City on October 2, 2017, he led the inauguration of the Bahay Pag-asa Project at Barangay Bito Buadi Itowa that is intended for the residents of Marawi who were internally displaced due to the conflict in the area.
During the President's visit, he witnessed troops from Joint Task Force (JTF) Marawi as they built the bamboo houses. He then gave words of encouragement to the government troops citing that he will fulfill his promise of raising their salaries by 2018 and providing funds for the education of their children. The President also gave out groceries, wristwatches, and sunglasses to the troopers before joining them in a boodle fight.
