Sec. Bong Go visits fire victims
Sec. Bong Go, who is serving as the Special Assistant to the President, visited the fire victims in Sta. Cruz, Manila on April 29, 2018.
Despite the hectic schedule ahead with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte during the ASEAN Summit in Singapore, Sec. Go personally checked the condition of the fire victims. Straight from Davao City, he immediately inspected the site from where 586 families were left homeless during last Friday's fire.
Sec. Go was accompanied by Health Secretary Francisco Duque, Social Welfare and Development OIC Emmanuel Leyco, NHA NCR Area Manager Engr. Victor Balba, Cong. Yul Servo Nieto of the 3rd District of Manila, friends such as Philip Salvador, and other local government officials.
Sec. Bong Go provided pails of grocery items and financial assistance to the fire victims. He also gave his personal belongings such as a box filled with his shoes and a big luggage filled with his clothing and pants, which he brought with him from Davao City. Aside from these, Sec. Go also led the distribution of food packs from the DSWD and hygiene packs from the DOH.
He even gave his own shoes to one of the affected residents who lost of all his belongings due to the fire. Sec. Go, instead, willingly wore the slippers of the recipient.
