Bumalik na sa bansa si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. matapos ang kaniyang partisipasyon sa ika-42 na ASEAN Summit sa Labuan Bajo, Indonesia kung saan ibinahagi niya ang kahalagahan ng pagtutulungan ng mga kasaping bansa tungo sa pagpapanatili ng kaunlaran at kapayapaan sa rehiyon. Inilahad ng Pangulo ang pakikiisa ng Pilipinas sa iba’t ibang hangarin ng ASEAN at mga external partner nito sa pagpapayabong ng malayang kalakalan, pagsusuporta sa mga “Nano businesses” at MSMEs, pagsisiguro ng suplay ng pagkain at enerhiya, at ang pagtugon sa epekto ng climate change. Binigyang-diin ng Pangulo ang mapayapang pagresolba sa isyu sa West Philippine Sea base sa 1982 UNCLOS, at siya’y nagpasalamat din kay Indonesian President Joko Widodo para sa mainit na pagtanggap sa delegasyon ng bansa.
