Highlighting the importance of forests in green development and the global climate fight, Climate Change Commission Secretary Robert E. A. Borje meets Asian Forest Cooperation Organization Executive Director Ricardo Calderon at the organization’s headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, April 26, 2022. Secretary Borje reiterated the importance of partnerships to unlock resources for vulnerable developing nations like the Philippines. Secretary Borje cited the value of further strengthening cooperation with international organisations such as AFoCo to build not only capacities but create lasting impacts on climate change mitigation and protecting biodiversity through forest management. During the meeting, AFoCO through the Executive Director committed to work closely with the CCC on advancing forest management and capacity building projects in the Philippines. AFoCO is a treaty-based intergovernmental organization that promotes cooperation towards achieving the shared Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and regional and global forestry objectives. To further equip national government communicators against emerging threats, crises, and complex communication challenges, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) held a follow-up session on the “Introduction to the Grid System” on 19 November 2024, continuing a series of workshops aimed at enhancing government communication capabilities. This workshop focused on the UK Government Communication Service International (UK GCSI) Grid System, a framework designed to improve the planning and coordination of government announcements.
