President Rodrigo Roa Duterte witnesses the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between Education Secretary Leonor Briones and Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) President and General Manager Jesus Aranas at the Malacañan Palace on April 16, 2018. The MOA is on the implementation of the GSIS Financial Assistance Loan (GFAL) Program for DepEd personnel which seeks to refinance the outstanding loans and improve the financial capability of DepEd personnel. Under the MOA, Deped shall prioritize the payment of GSIS loans over and above the payment of loans taken by Deped personnel from lending institutions as well as the deduction from its payroll.
