President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. spoke with United Arab Emirates President H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan today, October 14, 2024. During the conversation, President Marcos expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the UAE's invaluable support, particularly the aid provided during recent disasters and the generous pardon of 143 Filipinos, which has brought relief to many families.
The two leaders reaffirmed the strong people to people ties between the Philippines and the UAE and discussed opportunities to further enhance bilateral cooperation in the future.

Marcos Jr. on Friday reiterated the need to address the South China Sea issue to manage differences and reduce tensions following the recent incidents between China and the Philippines. In his intervention at the 19th East Asia Summit (EAS) in Vientiane, Laos, President Marcos said the South China issue remains a strategic challenge for the concerned parties that is difficult to address.
