President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos arrived at the National Convention Center in Vientiane, Lao PDR for the Opening Ceremony of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits today, October 9, 2024. Upon their arrival, they were warmly welcomed by Lao People's Democratic Republic Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and Madame Vandala Siphandone.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said Tuesday he would push for the country’s interests in his participation to the 44th and 45th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summits and Related Summits amid the current global and regional challenges.

During a bilateral meeting at the Malacañan Palace, President Marcos and SoKor President Yoon Suk Yeol agreed to elevate the ties of the two nations into a Strategic Partnership.
