During the meeting, PAFA Borje conveyed President Duterte’s appreciation for Bahrain's labor reform initiatives and assistance to Filipino migrant workers.
He reiterated the importance of the partnership with the Bahrain government in expanding reforms within the region.
He cited Bahrain’s regional and global leadership in institutionalised assistance to support for migrant workers, including Filipinos in distress, regardless of status.
Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Minister Al-Zayani assured the special envoy that Bahrain remains committed to the equal and fair treatment of the 50,000 Filipino workers in the country, including access to testing, tracing, treatment, and vaccination against COVID-19.
