Sec. Bong Go Visits Fire Victims in Pasig
Sec. Bong Go of the Office of the Special Assistant to the President paid a visit to the fire victims in Pasig City on May 6, 2018 after he was sent by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. He personally checked the condition of the victims from last Friday's fire and heard their concerns on recovery and rebuilding their homes. He then offered assistance and went on to donate his own clothes and shoes while also giving away gift certificates to the victims. Sec. Bong Go even swapped the shoes he was wearing for the slippers of one of the individuals affected by the fire incident. Sec. Bong Go reiterated that he has been accompanying the President in visiting and offering assistance to fire victims since it has been the practice of the President back when he was still mayor. Thus, they are planning to do likewise whenever there victims of fire incidents in Manila. After providing assistance to the victims, Sec. Go then visited the wake of John Paul Lao, the lone casualty in the fire incident. President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday handed over PhP26.87 million in financial assistance to the local governments of Cavite and Rizal to help farmers and fisherfolk affected by the El Niño phenomenon.

Aid extended by the Office of the President (OP) and other government agencies to Batangas reached over P170 million. The figure includes the P100,000 aid distributed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to needy Filipinos in the province.
