Chief of Presidential Protocol and Presidential Assistant on Foreign Affairs, Undersecretary Robert Borje, oversaw the repatriation of hundreds of distressed Filipinos from Beirut, Lebanon back to the Philippines on September 25, 2020. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte designated Undersecretary Borje as Special Envoy for the repatriation and goodwill mission aimed at assessing the condition of overseas Filipino workers in Beirut, Lebanon as nations continue to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic. After the successful repatriation process, Usec. Borje, together with the Philippine delegation were led to the Philippine Embassy Chancery for the turnover of relief of goods to the Filipino community and medical supplies to Lebanese beneficiaries. Aside from the relief packs for the Filipino community, the Philippines also donated medical supplies to the Lebanese Red Cross, Rafiq General Hospital, and Beirut General Hospital. Andre Matar of the Lebanese Red Cross, Rawad Chehayyeb of Rafiq Hariri University Hospital, and Ghina El Andary of KAFA (Enough for Women) were among the representatives who received the donation.
