Patungo na ng Japan si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ngayong araw, Pebrero 8, kasama si Unang Ginang Louise Araneta-Marcos at ang delegasyon ng Pilipinas para sa kaniyang limang araw na official visit sa imbitasyon din ni Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio. Inihayag ni PBBM na isusulong niya ang interes ng bansa bilang magandang destinasyon ng pamumuhunan, pagpapatibay ng relasyong Pilipinas-Japan, at pagpirma ng iba't ibang kasunduan na sasaklaw sa mas malalim na ugnayan ng depensa, seguridad, pampulitika, ekonomiya at mga kooperasyon sa iba't ibang sektor.
