Sa kaniyang unang pagbisita sa Cebu bilang Pangulo, inihayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na magbibigay ang pamahalaan ng 30,000 housing units para sa mga residente ng Cebu City. Ngayong araw, pinangunahan ni PBBM ang groundbreaking ceremony ng Cebu City South Coastal Urban Development Housing Project sa Barangay Basak San Nicolas na handog para sa halos 8,000 na informal settler families (ISFs) at low-wage earners sa lungsod.
