Sa kaniyang talumpati, inihayag ni PBBM na patuloy na makikipagtulungan ang bansa sa Tsina para matiyak ang kapayapaan sa rehiyon, partikular na sa West Philippine Sea, maging ang masiglang ekonomiya ng mga bansa rito. Idiniin din ng Pangulo ang kahalagahan ng kalakalan sa pagitan ng dalawang nasyon at ng papel ng Tsina bilang top import source at pangalawa naman bilang export destination ng Pilipinas.
