The Philippines and Qatar signed at least nine agreements on Monday covering cooperation on combating human trafficking, seafarers’ welfare, tourism, sports and climate change during the state visit of Qatar’s Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Manila.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led on Friday the grand launching of the National Fiber Backbone Phase 1 aimed to increase internet connectivity service capacity to various provinces, government offices and data centers in the country.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. thanked Prime Minister Christopher Luxon for his dedication to strengthening the Philippines-New Zealand relationship during a state banquet. He also offered a toast to the well-being of the leaders and the mutual success of their governments, as well as to the forthcoming 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties. Prior to the banquet hosted in honor of the Prime Minister, the two leaders also exchanged gifts and posed for a photo session.

The Philippines and New Zealand agreed on Thursday to elevate their bilateral relationship to Comprehensive Partnership by 2026 to deliver real benefits and advance the two nations’ shared security and economic interests.
