President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the Philippine delegation are now on their way back to Manila after their successful participation in the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit and fruitful activities on the sidelines held from March 4–6, 2024.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. joins Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and other ASEAN leaders for a photo to conclude the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit in Melbourne, Australia.
After delivering his address at the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit Leaders' Plenary, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. arrived at the Government House and was welcomed by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Hon. Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday commended the Australian government for the success of the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit in Melbourne as he extended his gratitude for its unwavering support to the Indo-Pacific region especially in terms of the summit’s four tracks.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos attended the Leaders and Spouses' Dinner at the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit, joining other leaders and spouses for dinner at the National Gallery of Victoria.
Alongside other leaders, PBBM observed performances, including an Australian First Nations dance and musical renditions of national anthems. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese delivered remarks emphasizing the summit's importance.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., alongside other heads of state, received a formal welcome from Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the ASEAN-Australia Summit in Melbourne. The leaders were greeted individually by the Australian PM and proceeded to pose for the ASEAN family photo. They also observed a smoking ceremony by a Wurundjeri Elder.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Macquarie Group CEO Shemara Wikramanayake discussed the company's investments in renewable energy and digital infrastructure in the Philippines. They emphasized collaboration and the government's support for these initiatives.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. told Filipinos in Australia to connect with their home country by visiting the Philippines and see for themselves the developments under the Bagong Pilipinas campaign.
