Bago itinalaga bilang kalihim ng DND si Secretary Galvez ay naglingkod siya bilang Presidential Adviser sa Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) mula Disyembre 2018 hanggang Enero 2023. Si Presidential Adviser Tillah ay dati namang gobernador ng Tawi-Tawi st noon pa ma'y naging tagapagtaguyod na ang opisyal sa karapatan ng mga Pilipinong Muslim.
