MS. CHERYL COSIM: Puntahan ko naman po ang mainit na usapin ngayon, punta ako sa pulitika, impeachment, Mr. President.

Kasalukuyan mainit talaga ang usapin. I’m sure ito na naman parang may bago na namang teleseryeng inaabangan ang mga kababayan natin sa takbo po nitong impeachment complaint kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

May mga alegasyon po na ang pagkaantala nitong proseso ay dulot ng personal o pampulitikang interes. Ano po ang inyong pananaw dito?

PRESIDENT FERDINAND R. MARCOS JR.: Lahat ng impeachment process nasa lehislatura ‘yan. It’s between Congress and the Senate.

That’s not my… I’m busy with the transport, with the rice, with all of the different things that we are doing that nauubos ang oras ko doon.

Wala naman akong papel doon sa impeachment.

MS. COSIM: Sinasabi po kasi nila na kahit na sabihin na separation of powers, mayroon at mayroong say ang Pangulo sa magiging desisyon. You want to clear that?

PRESIDENT MARCOS: Siguro if a president chooses to do that; I choose not to.

MS. COSIM: Puntahan ko po ang West Philippine Sea. Sinabi po ni Commodore Jay Tarriela na ang dapat na susunod na pangulo ng Pilipinas ay dapat ipagpatuloy po ang inyong polisiya sa West Philippine Sea. And then in February, you said “Filipinos do not yield.”

How do you want history to remember the Marcos policy sa West Philippine Sea?

PRESIDENT MARCOS: We did not yield. We continue to protect the sovereignty of the Republic. We continue to defend the territory of the Republic. And we continue to protect and defend the people of the Republic.

Hindi naman tayo nakikipag-away. Pero huwag niyong binabangga ‘yung mga mangingisda, hindi ba? Huwag niyo kaming hinaharang doon sa teritoryo namin. Iyon ipaglalaban talaga namin ‘yan.

Because kung ibigay mo ‘yan, bibigay mo ng – like they say: You give them an inch, they will take a mile.

So, you cannot allow it even the one inch.

MS. COSIM: Mr. President, three years na lamang po ang nalalabi po sa inyong termino. What is the one thing you absolutely want to be remembered for?

PRESIDENT MARCOS: We made a change for the better. This has been my guide in all the positions I’ve taken.

The worst thing that can happen is umupo ka doon sa posisyon mo, na nagsilbi ka, umalis ka, walang pinagbago.

So, I absolutely insist that in 2028, when I leave this office, there are significant and tangible changes for the better in the life of each Filipino.
