President Duterte graces PSG’s command socials, thanksgiving

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Thursday joined the celebration of the Presidential Security Group’s (PSG) 3rd Quarter Command Socials and Thanksgiving at the PSG New Firing Range, PSG Compound.

“I am deeply honored to be with you today as we gather for the PSG’s 3rd Quarter Command Socials and Thanksgiving. This is a time to celebrate the Presidential Security Group’s accomplishments in the third quarter and to renew its commitment in strengthening your camaraderie and solidarity towards serving the government and our country,” President Duterte said in his speech.

The President expressed his gratitude to all the officers and members of PSG in their efforts to ensure his safety through strict security protocols in all his events.

“Not only have you given your best to protect me, my family, and Malacañan Palace, but you have also dedicated your service for the security of our important guests, especially heads of states, diplomats, former presidents, cabinet members, and other significant personalities who came to meet with me for official engagements,” he said.

The Chief Executive also acknowledged PSG’s social responsibility with its participation in community development in areas of health, education, and environmental preservation.

“The medical and dental missions you organized have benefited various barangays and the assistance you provided to selected public schools during Brigada Eskwela have helped many teachers, students, and volunteer parents,” the President said.

The PSG is also involved in environment-related campaigns, he noted, such as cleaning and protecting the Pasig River, Manila Bay, and esteros in Metro Manila. These are proofs, he said, that the elite group not only exists to protect the President, but to also fully support his programs and advocacies.

The Commander-In-Chief also called on the PSG to continue helping the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) with their anti-organized crime undertakings.

Unity and cooperation, he stressed, will lead to the complete realization of the government’s goal of a safer, more peaceful, and more progressive society.

The PSG is a combined elite unit of the AFP supported by the PNP, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and civilian workforce. PND
