To ramp up the national vaccination program and increase the vaccination coverage in many localities in the country, the national government will be conducting activities for the three-day National COVID-19 Vaccination Days scheduled on November 29 to December 1, 2021.
Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque Jr reiterated this announcement in his press briefing today, November 11, 2021, where he underscored that the three-day event aims to vaccinate 5 million individuals per day to reach the target of 15 million vaccinated individuals.
“Bayanihan po ang konsepto natin dito, kung saan ang kooperasyon ng lahat ay kailangan. Makakasama natin ang buong pamahalaan, kasama na ang mga LGUs, Sandatahang Lakas, at Pambansang Kapulisan, ang medical community, pati na po ang religious organizations,” said Secretary Roque.
Aside from the organizations/groups mentioned above, Dr. Kezia Rosario, from the Secretariat of the National Vaccination Operations Center, said all assets of the government and the private sector partners will be mobilized in the delivery of vaccines and ancillaries.
Meanwhile, community-level logistics will be done through local units of the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines and city/municipal health units, Dr. Rosario said.
Rosario added that the event will be done simultaneously nationwide in the 16 target regions and BARMM, all registered vaccination sites will be activated for the event, and that all government agencies and stakeholders will be mobilized to participate in the National COVID-19 Vaccination Days.
In relation to the vaccination activities to be conducted during the National COVID-19 Vaccination Days, Sec. Roque stressed that the country already has a steady vaccine supply and that there is no more reason to say that there are no vaccines or that supply is not enough that is why some people remain unvaccinated.
“Anuman ang brand, ligtas at epektibo lahat nang ibinigay nating bakuna dahil lahat po yan ay pumasa hindi lang po sa ating FDA, pati na rin po sa World Health Organization,” assured Sec. Roque.
The increasing number of people who are willing to be vaccinated is becoming evident in the increasing number of individuals getting jabbed in a day. More than one million, or 1,052,500 individuals got jabbed yesterday, November 10, 2021.
In total, around 66.8 million vaccine doses have been administered all over the Philippines, as of November 10 data from the National COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard. Of this number, 39.51 percent, equivalent to 30.4 million individuals are fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila has already reached 100 percent of its target population for vaccination with a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 91.10 percent are already fully vaccinated.
More people are expected to be vaccinated in the coming days as more vaccine deliveries continue to arrive. Roque mentioned the arrival yesterday, November 10, of 866, 970 doses of Pfizer vaccines and 3 million doses of Sinovac vaccines that were both purchased by the national government, and the delivery of 793, 900 AstraZeneca vaccine doses donated by the government of Germany to the Philippines through the COVAX Facility. ###
