SEOUL — Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Sunday, June 3, met with the members of the Filipino community in South Korea.

Secretary Go is among the Cabinet members accompanying President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on his three-day Official Visit to the Republic of Korea.

Go was warmly welcomed by the Filipino community when he arrived at the VIPS Restaurant in Hyewadong at 12:00 noon (Seoul time).

The President’s long-time aide assured that the Duterte administration is committed to assist Filipinos.

“Bukas po ang tanggapan namin sa mga humihingi ng tulong. Ang gobyerno po ni Pangulong Duterte ay bukas po. Inyo po ‘yan, gobyerno niyo ‘yan,” he said in a media interview.

Go also noted that as Special Assistant to the President, it is his duty to extend assistance to Filipinos.

The gathering was organized by members of the Filipino community in Incheon.

Carolina Ruiz, president of the Filipino community in Incheon, expressed the members’ support for Duterte and Go, noting that they are “very happy” with the President’s performance.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), around 68,000 Filipinos are currently residing in South Korea, comprising of workers who entered the country under the employment permit system (EPS), students, professionals, missionaries, and spouses of Korean nationals. PND
