President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. issued Proclamation No. 687 declaring Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, a special working day in the municipality of Maria Aurora, province of Aurora, for the commemoration of the birth anniversary of Maria Aurora Aragon Quezon.
“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the Municipality of Maria Aurora be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” President said in issuing the proclamation on Sept. 12, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
Maria Aurora Aragon Quezon, the first daughter of President Manuel L. Quezon and Aurora Aragon Quezon, was born on September 23, 1919.
President Quezon, the first Filipino to head a government of the entire Philippines, is considered the second president of the country after Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. PND
