President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expects seeing the best in every Filipino with the launching of the Bagong Pilipinas program as it ushers a new era of national development.

“Ang Bagong Pilipinas ay sinasabi natin, ‘yun na nga kagaya ng nabanggit ko sa aking salita ay sinabi ko — ay ang mundo nagbago na, kailangan natin magbago rin. Ngunit ang pagbabago na dala natin ay ‘yung nasa ugali ng Pilipino. Ngayon, ang sinasabi natin ay sayang naman at napakagaling ng Pilipino,” President Marcos said during a media interview in Iriga City following a rice distribution event there.

“Kung minsan ay ‘yung sistema, ang mga sector, ‘yung mga sa trabaho, sa agrikultura, lahat ‘yan ay hindi talaga napapakinabangan ng mga husay at galing nila. Kaya’t ang Bagong Pilipinas, lahat po tayo magsama-sama. Lahat ng ating galing, lahat ng ating sipag para sa ikabubuti ng ating minamahal na Pilipinas. Iyan po ang kahulugan ng Bagong Pilipinas.”

Marcos made the remarks when asked about the significance of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Caravan which he launched in Nabua, Camarines Sur earlier. The launching was simultaneously done in Ilocos Norte, Leyte, and Davao de Oro in Mindanao.

BPSF is the country’s biggest service caravan aimed at providing major government services to underprivileged Filipinos in various communities across the country.

The event featured the flagship government programs such as Kadiwa ng Pangulo, Passport on Wheels, Driver’s License registration/assistance, National I.D., Pag-IBIG Fund, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and Police Clearance applications.

Camarines Sur 5th District Rep. Miguel Luis Villafuerte said 200,000 residents of the province are expected to benefit from the BPSF.

Joining the President were Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma, Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual, Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, Communications Secretary Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil and CHED Chairman Prospero De Vera. PND
