PBBM widens Sarangani’s Kamanga Agro-Industrial Economic Zone through Proclamation No. 330

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. issued Proclamation No. 330 designating several parcels of land in Maasim, Sarangani province for inclusion into the existing Kamanga Agro-Industrial Economic Zone.

The President issued the proclamation on August 29, pursuant to Republic Act (RA) No. 7916, otherwise known as the Special Economic Zone Act of 1995, as amended by RA No. 8748 and upon the recommendations of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).

Proclamation No. 330 states that the designation of the parcels of land located at Barangay Kamanga of Maasim into the existing Kamanga Agro-Industrial Economic Zone is subjected to the provision of RA No. 7916, as amended, its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), PEZA Board of Directors Resolution NO. 07-232 (s. 2007) and Resolution No. 22-021 (s.2022), with an aggregate area of more or less 370,705 square meters.

PEZA recognized Sarangani’s potential as being the prime location of the Kamanga Agro-Industrial Economic Zone, which hosts a number of companies generating P42 billion worth of investments.

With the government’s trade and investment initiatives combined with the strengthened ecozone development programs, PEZA has expressed optimism that more ecozones will be created in provinces like Sarangani and with the expected influx of various industries to the regions.

With President Marcos placing strategic importance on the development of economic zones, PEZA has intensified its efforts to promote business and investment opportunities, especially in the countryside, and attract foreign investors to come and locate their operations in the country’s economic zones.
