Government to assist locally stranded individuals – Palace

The Palace announced that government assistance through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19, will be given to locally stranded individuals (LSIs) while they await for the resumption of public transportation going to their home provinces.

The Palace, on June 9, reported that hundreds of repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who arrived at the Clark International Airport were sent-off earlier this morning to their hometowns after yielding negative result from their RT-PCR tests.

PRRD gives gov’t agencies one week to send OFWs in MM back home

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has ordered the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Department of Labor and Employment and the Department of Health to ensure that some 24,000 repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), who are currently awaiting results of their RT-PCR tests for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), would be sent home within the week.
