Fifty-nine agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Escalante City, Negros Occidental are now new landowners after the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) distributed certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) in this province.

The landholdings distributed were previously owned by Nelra Fe Leonor Ynson, Gloria Poblador dela Paz and Joffre dela Paz, Consuelo Divinagracia, and Jose Libo-on, identified by Title Numbers T-2013000831, T-103016, P-10418, and T-103016, bearing Lot Nos. Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Rainet Sancho said the CLOAs are the proof of ownership of the lands they once tilled.

“Please remember the responsibilities that come from owning these properties. Make your lands productive, pay your taxes regularly, and refrain from involving in illegal arrangements,” Sancho said.

Sancho added that the DAR would provide the ARBs with the necessary support services, such as farm machines and equipment, farm inputs, and various training, among others, to help them in improving their livelihood.

The distribution activity is anchored to the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III, to provide agricultural lands to landless farmers to uplift their economic lives.
