The Department of Agrarian Reform’s (DAR) National Agrarian Reform Community Task Force (NARCTF) recently approved the Midsayap, North Cotabato as an agrarian reform community (ARC) to receive various support services from the government.
An ARC is a barangay or cluster of contiguous barangays within a municipality where a majority of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program or CARP-covered lands have been awarded to a critical mass of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Evangeline Bueno said the ARC, named Western Midsayap Agrarian Reform Community, would help bolster the livelihood of the ARBs living in this area.
“More development interventions are expected to be poured in to help this new ARC become more resilient, dynamic, and progressive in the years to come, which would help improve the economic lives of our farmers,” she said.
Bueno divulged that the Western Midsayap ARC is composed of three barangays, including Salunayan, Bagumba, and Palongoguen, and would be the only existing ARC in the municipality of Midsayap.
Bueno further explained that the ARC Development Strategy, created in 1993, was adopted to focus on priority agrarian reform areas to maximize resource allocation, complementation, and mobilization for greater efficiency and impact taking into consideration the limited financial and material resources of the government.
This undertaking is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., through the leadership of DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III, to uplift the lives of the farmers.

Midsayap naaprubahan bilang bagong agrarian reform community
